Aspirin is a pain relief medication that is usually taken to relieve headache or dizziness. However, recent studies reveal that aspirin has other benefits, which lowers the risk of ovarian cancer for women.

The study, conducted by researchers in the United States revealed that taking aspirin every day can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer by 20 percent. These results were found after the researchers collected data from 12 studies involving 12,000 women who did not have ovarian cancer and 8,000 women suffering from ovarian cancer.

Approximately 18 percent of women taking aspirin on a regular basis, 24 percent used drugs such as ibuprofen instead of aspirin, and 16 percent use of acetaminophen. The results found that women who took aspirin every day had a 20 percent risk of ovarian cancer is lower compared to women who took aspirin less than once a week.

Meanwhile, researchers also found that women who use drugs like ibuprofen non - aspirin at least once a week have an increased risk of ovarian cancer is 10 percent lower, as reported by Health Day News ( 06 / 02 ).

The study, published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute also revealed no association between acetaminophen consumption with the risk of ovarian cancer. Although the researchers found a link between aspirin with ovarian cancer, but this study did not demonstrate a causal relationship.
