Do You know that Home Delivery Is More Risky Than In the Hospital? A study says that doing home deliveries more risky than in the hospital.
After analyzing 13 million certificate of birth from 2007 to
2010, researchers found that babies born at home are at risk of seizures, weak
heartbeat, and did not give any response.
Babies born at home are also ten times more likely to not
breathe for five minutes after birth, such as reported by the New York Daily
News.
"Some women choose to give birth at home, but we found
that it appeared to have a choice of risk," says researcher Michael Malloy
of the University of Texas Medical Branch.
In comparison, babies born at home and did not breathe for
five minutes after birth was found in 1.6 in 1,000 births. While there are only
0.16 of 1,000 births in similar cases if the baby born in the hospital.
This study was not intended to discredit a particular
profession. However, researchers confirmed that the option to deliver the
infant should be carefully considered by every woman.
The results then reported in the American Journal of
Obstetrics and Gynecology.
