There is a strange phobia that makes a person feel tingling,
discomfort, and disgust when he saw the hole. Phobias are real Trypophobia in
the medical field that is not recognized as one of the real mental disorder.
Regardless of whether or not Trypophobia as a mental
disorder, there are tips given from one of the researchers in order to recover
from the condition. How?
"Trypophobia is a common phobia that is not recognized
as a mental disorder," said Geoff Cole, a psychologist at the University
of Essex in the UK. "I never felt the same sensation when I saw small
holes irregular, but now it is not anymore."
At first, Cole and his team of researchers conducted a study
involving several respondents. Cole then found that 16 percent of respondents
showed symptoms Trypophobia.
After that, Cole was comparing the 76 images that trigger Trypophobia
with 76 hole picture has nothing to do with Trypophobia, such as octopuses,
scorpions, and poisonous spiders.
From there, Cole found that Trypophobia actually a
subconscious reaction to something dangerous.
"We often think every people have a tendency to suffer Trypophobia
when looking at the holes. However it is actually a form of alert to something
dangerous and threatening us," said Cole, as quoted from the Mother Nature
Network.
Even though a person has no symptoms Trypophobia claimed, he
would still not be comfortable when viewing images with lots of holes, added
Cole.
"Then how to cure it, and I often look at the full
picture that hole many times. Finally now become immune," said Cole.
That's the advice from Cole. But you do not need to force
yourself to do it if it cannot.
