You've seen the video titled Dove ad Dove's "Real
Beauty"? (If not, you can see it at the very bottom of this article). The
ad shows a forensic expert who draws a woman's face without seeing them, only
through the description they provide. Then the image is based on the depiction
of another person. As a result, images that are based on other people turned
out more beautiful.
Dove The message is "You are more beautiful than you
think." But in fact, scientists in the United States explained that the
message is wrong, and it can be proven scientifically.
One study showed that women tend to think they are more
beautiful than the real thing. The research was conducted by taking three
pictures of women. One is the original image, the other images that have been converted
into more ugly, and one that has been modified to be more beautiful.
The result, when they are asked to choose their true self
image, most women choose a prettier picture. Subsequent studies showed that
these women actually believe that the picture is more beautiful it is who they
really are.
Not just a beauty problem, other research also shows that
people sometimes overestimate the good behavior that they did, as reported by
NewSer (22/05). Such behavior could be helping others, giving donations, and so
forth.
