LED beam is known seemingly environmentally friendly can
also harm the health of the eye. Recent research has shown that exposure to
high levels of LED greetings can damage the retina of the eye.
Beam and LED lights have been used as an effective
replacement of traditional bulbs because it uses 85 percent less energy and
last up to 10 years. LED beam used in electronic devices such as mobile phones,
televisions, computers, and the lamps.
Dr Celia Sanchez-Ramos of Complutense University in Madrid,
who led the research explained that the light out of the LEDs come on
shortwave. Exposure of LED light in a long time will cause damage to the retina
that cannot be repaired.
The retina is the part of the eye is composed of tissues
that are sensitive to light and work to capture the light to make humans can
see.
"This problem will become more severe due to human life
in the long term and the children now increasingly using electronic instruments
since childhood, especially for their school. Eyes are not designed to look
directly at the light. They are designed to look at using light, "said
Sanchez-Ramos, as reported by the Daily Mail (15/05).
Sanchez-Ramos explained that in modern times, the human eye
open for 6,000 hours per year and frequent exposure to artificial light for a
long time. Research conducted in 2012 showed that the LED light radiation can
damage human retinal pigment.
Not only damage the human retina, the LED light is also
blamed for the change in color on art and painting at the art gallery. Research
conducted by the University of Antwerp indicate that whitening LED light
paintings by Van Gogh and Cezanne.
