Recent studies show that a cup of chamomile tea can help
ward off cancer. Tea contains chemical substances, apigenin, which can kill
cancer cells.
Scientists at Ohio State University found that apigenin
could block the ability of breast cancer cells to grow, stop the spread of
cells and make them more sensitive to drug therapy.
Chamomile tea, parsley and celery are the most abundant
source of apigenin. These chemicals have anti-inflammatory properties are
effective in warding off cancer.
In addition, apigenin also has relationships with three
proteins that have specific functions. The most important of which is known as
hnRNPA2 that can affect small pieces of DNA, called mRNA, which contains the
instructions needed to produce a specific protein. Abnormalities in this
protein can remind about 80 percent of a person's risk of developing any type
of cancer.
Therefore, now the scientists tested whether modified foods,
which contain the proper dose of this nutrient that can prevent cancer in mice.
