Eating walnuts two or three times a week effective lower
type 2 diabetes risk by 24 percent, according to recent research.
The study involved 140,000 women precisely the United
States. Women who enjoy 28 grams of walnuts at least twice a week were able to
reduce the risk of diabetes than those who rarely ate it.
Published in the Journal of Nutrition, this is actually not
the first study that links between walnut consumption and risk of diabetes. But
this is the first study conducted on a large scale and successfully proved that
the canary is efficacious to prevent diabetes.
Although the study involved only female nurses, but the
researchers believe that the effect will be the same in men.
"These results prove that the higher the consumption of
walnuts, the lower a person's risk of type 2 diabetes," the researchers
wrote in the journal, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Walnuts are rich indeed nuts omega-3 fatty acids and proven
to reduce inflammation in the body. Eating walnuts also is said to protect the
heart, prevent cancer, and joint pain.
Previous studies from Louisiana State University have even
suggested that nut consumption is able to control weight. So it would not hurt
if you start now snacking nuts to get all the health benefits.
