Nature Tourism - Situ Patengan

Some call it patengan Situ or Situ Patenggang. In Sundanese, means lake and patengan Situ derived from the word "pateang-teangan" which means to find each other. According to legend there was a pair of lovers, Ki Jones and Dewi Rengganis who loved each other but separated by circumstance. Both were hit by a deep sadness, until they were both crying tears welled up into the lake. After a long search for each other, one day they could meet at a rock that is now known as the Love Stone. Goddess Rengganis request Ki Jones makes the boat to circle the lake. The boat was turned into heart-shaped island called Pulau Asmara.

Since it is believed that anyone who dropped by around Pulau Batu Love and Asmara will find her soul mate, if they were lovers, then their relationship will last.

Apart from an interesting legend, the scene in Situ patengan is attractive tourist. Lake area with calm waters and the cool air in the area around is really refreshing. To enjoy the beauty around visitors can rent a speed boat, rowing boat or water bike.

Regions Situ patengan is about 47 miles south of downtown Bandung. From the entrance toll Cileunyi Cipularang toll, exit at the toll booth Kopo, then turn toward Soerang and continue to the South to the city Ciwidey. To come to this place you can go through the city Ciwidey first. Along the way, you will pass many tourist attractions such as White Crater Ciwidey, pool Ciwalini, Rancaupas camp, and the Tea Garden Rancabali.
